A new exhibition in Rome shows for the first time the origins of Italian high fashion design. Between 1945 and 1968 stylists such as Valentino, Sorelle Fontana, Gattinoni and Balestra – just to name a few – introduced a new conception of refined cloth making in Italy, different from the French standards either in terms of materials and designs. The time of Dolce Vita basically marks dawn and rise of an excellence which is still appreciated today all around the world. On display at MAXXI’s premises 80 items of clothing paired to coeval Bulgari jewels, a brand which since then provides with the ideal accessories to high fashion garments.
“Bellissima”: Italy and high fashion 1945-1968 is an unmissable exhibition for all those who love Italian style… a good alternative to shopping or window shopping!
Venue: MAXXI, via Guido Reni 4a.
Time: Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri 11am-7pm. Sat 11am-10pm. Mon closed.
